The Ortley Beach Voters and Taxpayers Association (OBVTA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life in the Township of Toms River, NJ section known as Ortley Beach, NJ.

We are a local neighborhood association providing information and services to residents and businesses of Ortley Beach, NJ. The organization has been in existence for over 50 years, but since superstorm Sandy our membership has swelled to over 500 family and business members. One of the earliest events on record for the organization was the 1957 dinner dance. A copy of the program can be found HERE

We provide continuous information to our members on the rebuilding efforts since Sandy and on being sure that Ortley Beach gets better and better as a place to live and spend time at the New Jersey shore. We liaise with Toms River Township, Ocean County and the State of New Jersey to provide input on rebuilding and maintaining our community. We recently held a rallies in Trenton and here on Ortley Beach to urge the NJ DEP and the US Army Corps of Engineers to begin reconstruction and replenishment of our dunes and beaches which we so desperately need.

OBVTA holds monthly meetings in the summer season on Saturday mornings at the Moose Lodge at 1801 Bay Blvd where neighbors can meet and share information — and we hold numerous social events during the year.

Please consider joining our organization – (use the “Membership” tab on this website for the application). Meet your neighbors, have some fun and help make Ortley Beach a better place to live and play.
